Does Your Dog Get Enough Exercise?

How do you know if your dog is getting enough exercise and attention? Does she eats about 800 to 1000 cal/day? Runs with you on leash about 15 to 20 miles/week? Goes to dog park so she can run fast every day (10 to 45 min) unless weather's bad. Or daily playtime sessions are short (5 to 10 min) and include jumping patterns in backyard, tug, fetch.

I'd say your dog is getting enough exercise. Some of the signs for them not getting enough exercise is them acting out. Like tearing things up seeming anxious, that type of things. It also isn't always about exercise it is about mental stimulation too. Make them work for things. It makes them think. Tricks, treat balls, puzzles (yes, theres a puzzles for dogs). In fact mental stimulation is more important than the physical activity as those of us with dogs that have orthopedic issues have found out first hand. Due to complications some dog went over 1.5 yrs without really being able to much of anything because of his knee. Some owner entertained their dog by per mental stimulation. This is a dog that used to run for 2.5-3 miles with his owner 5 days a week, go to the dog park 2-3 times a week for 2-3 hours, in addition to 20-60 minute walks daily.

So again think mental not just physical.
